A Critical Moment for Las Queseras
In Guaranda, Ecuador, the Las Queseras Community Factory has long been a lifeline for 110 indigenous families and a vital support system for 520 residents. However, this essential resource now faces the threat of closure.
Aging equipment and insufficient facilities have left the factory unable to comply with sanitary regulations, endangering its ability to operate. Without urgent updates, the loss of permits could cut off families from their main source of income and destabilize the local economy.
Our Goal
To optimize cheese production in the Las Queseras community by:
- Enhancing infrastructure,
- Training staff in production and sanitation processes,
- And implementing an efficient organizational system.
The project aims to increase production by 60%, boost income for new members by 10%, and create 10 direct jobs, thereby strengthening the local economy and improving residents' living conditions.
