This project will enable the Our Lady of the Poor Clinic to continue its mission of healing in a time of great crisis. In the face of immense suffering, families turn to this clinic for lifesaving help, many with no other place to go.
Bring Health and Hope to Port-au-Prince, Haiti
The Our Lady of the Poor Clinic 2025 project will help provide vital, lifesaving healthcare services for six months to approximately 1,000 patients in Port-au-Prince, Haiti. This initiative is carried out in partnership with Food For The Poor (FFTP) Haiti in support of the team at Our Lady of the Poor Clinic, which is operated by Bernard Mevs Hospital, a long-standing and respected medical provider.
In late 2024, Bernard Mevs Hospital was forced to vacate its primary facility after it sustained significant damage due to widespread gang violence and looting. Its main building and auxiliary facility were destroyed, resulting in the loss of essential departments such as the ICU, CT scanner, radiology unit and outpatient clinics. Despite these hardships, the medical team has relocated operations across four temporary sites and continues to serve the community with dedication.
