“If you have a dream you follow it, and you don’t let anyone stand in your way.”

-Rachel Wheeler

Everyone should have the opportunity for a dignified life. That is not always the case for the poor. Every day, there is someone in desperate need of help. A mother that has no food for her children, a family with no safe home or means to earn sustainable income, a child in need of education, a village with no access to clean water.

We can change this. You can change this.

Four years ago, after a visit to Food For The Poor's corporate headquarters, I was inspired to make an impact and change lives for those in need. At the age of 9, I set out to build a village in Haiti. With the help of so many generous donors, just like you, we were able to not only provide 27 families with safe housing, we also raised enough funds to help replace L'Ecole Reap de Morel basic school, originally destroyed during the 2010 earthquake.

Today, I ask for your help to continue my mission to aid families in desperate need in K-Michel, Leogane Haiti, a community that was devasted by the 2010 earthquake. Five years later, families are still living in tents or structures made of sinc, tarps, and other discarded materials sound in garbage dumps. Families, children, living amongst rubble, with no future prospects.

My aim is to build 25 double-unit homes for this community, but I need your help. Together, we have the power to change this reality and transform their lives. By donating to Food For The Poor through my Champions page, you can make an incredible impact. We're almost half-way towards our goal thanks to generous donors from my earlier fundraising!

The money we raise through Champions For The Poor will go directly towards providing relief and development initiatives for those in need.

Please donate to my cause today to change someone's life now. Every dollar raised will benefit someone in desperate need of assistance.

Please check the Updates section for news and happenings about my fundraising.

Thank you for your dedication, love, and support!  - Rachel

About Food For The Poor

Since its inception in 1982, Food For The Poor has been serving the poorest of the poor in 17 countries throughout the Caribbean and Latin America. Thanks to faithful donors, Food For The Poor's programs provide housing, clean water, education, micro-enterprise initiatives, healthcare, and emergency relief in addition to feeding hundreds of thousands of people each day.

Collectively, Food For The Poor has raised over $11 billion in aid, more than half of which was provided in the last five years, and has built more than 91,000 housing units for the destitute. The best part? Total administrative costs have remained under 5%, which means that more than 95% of all donations go directly to programs that help those in desperate need.
